"Helpful idea, but I wish it was easier to follow"
I’ve been trying to learn AppSheet, but the tutorials feel kind of scattered. Some seem outdated, and a few skip over the basic steps that beginners really need. I kept wondering if other people were running into the same confusion, because it starts feeling overwhelming quickly. I’d really love clearer step-by-step guides that make it easier to follow along from the beginning.

"At first glance, it looks really nice…"
At first glance, it looks really nice and polished. But reading between the lines, the menus aren’t always as straightforward as they seem, and I found myself clicking around a bit to figure out where things were. Not a dealbreaker, just a little confusing sometimes.

"Flexible licensing really helped our small team"
What I appreciated most was the licensing setup. We only have a handful of people actually building apps, while others just need to use them, so it felt way more reasonable not having to put everyone on the same big plan. That makes sense for a small team, right?
We were able to add users gradually as we grew, and changing things didn’t turn into a whole process. It saved us some money and also made approvals less of a headache, which feels like how this kind of tool should work.

"Not as simple as it makes itself look"
I tried using AppSheet to build a basic no-code app for tracking jobs at work. At first, the setup seemed fine, and I thought it was going to be straightforward. But once I needed to make a few small changes, it got confusing quickly. A lot of things feel tucked away in menus, and when something goes wrong, the error messages don’t really tell you enough to fix it. I ended up spending more time Googling simple issues than actually building the app, which kind of defeats the point of a no-code tool. It can probably work if you’re patient and willing to dig around, but it feels like AppSheet presents itself as easier than it really is. For someone expecting a simple drag-and-drop experience, it’s definitely not that. Not terrible, just more frustrating than it should be.

"I got stuck trying to set…"
I got stuck trying to set up an automation in AppSheet it kind of made me question how reliable the whole setup was going to be. I messaged support not expecting much, but they replied faster than I thought they would and explained things in a way that actually made sense. It took me a couple tries to get it right, but they stayed patient the whole time and we got it working in the end. I’m happy with the help, though the initial frustration definitely chipped away at my trust a bit

"Makes my spreadsheet life feel way less chaotic"
I’ve been using AppSheet mostly with Google Sheets, and it’s been a nice little relief. When I’m in one of those “please don’t make me do extra work” moods, it’s great that I can update the sheet and the app just picks it up without a bunch of fuss. A few settings took me a minute to wrap my head around, which was mildly annoying at first, but once I got past that, it started saving me a lot of manual work. Overall, I’m happy with it

"I tried the templates for my…"
I tried the templates for my app and they saved me a bunch of time. I didn’t have to sit there figuring out every tiny detail from scratch, which made it way easier to just get moving. Based on how quickly I got started, I’d say these are probably a big help for anyone trying to build something without getting stuck at the setup stage.

"Nice customization, but a bit limited"
To be fair, the custom options are nice and easy to use at first. I liked being able to tweak things to fit what I wanted, but I did feel like I ran into the limits quickly. It’s good for basic customization, just not as flexible as I was hoping.

"I’ve been using AppSheet with my Google…"
I’ve been using AppSheet with my Google Sheets and some SQL data, it connects everything smoothly. Getting it set up wasn’t some giant nightmare either, which was a relief. The only thing that occasionally drives me to the edge is the refresh speed, it can feel painfully slow at times. But overall, it’s still a really useful tool when I need to throw together quick apps without getting buried in chaos

"I don’t know what’s been going on lately…"
I don’t know what’s been going on lately, but this just hasn’t been reliable enough. It used to be something I didn’t have to think twice about, and now I’m constantly wondering if it’s actually going to work when I need it. That’s the most annoying part — I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect basic consistency. When something keeps letting you down at random times, it gets old really fast

"I’ve been using AppSheet for a few months…"
I’ve been using AppSheet for a few months now, it’s been better than I expected. I had a good feeling about it when I first started, and I’m glad I trusted my instinct. The apps load quickly, updates show up without much delay, and I haven’t really had issues with crashing. A few setup steps took me some time to figure out, but once I got past that, the performance has been really solid.

"Helpful offline, but syncing is still a hassle"
I use AppSheet a lot when I’m out on job sites where the signal is terrible, the offline mode is useful. I can still fill out forms, look things up, and get work done without internet, which is a big help. But the syncing afterward can be slow, and sometimes it’s just confusing. I’ve had records that don’t update right away, and then I’m sitting there wondering if it actually saved or not. The syncing is really the main issue for me, it works, but it can be slow, it can be unclear, and it can get annoying. Overall it’s decent and does what I need most of the time, but the sync process definitely needs to be better...

"Super Easy to Connect!!"
It connects to Workspace really easily and saves me a bunch of time!! Definitely makes things more convenient.
"Useful, but the permissions left me confused"
I wanted to like it more, but I kept getting mixed signals while setting things up. Some parts made it seem like managing team permissions would be straightforward, but then I’d run into confusing settings or realize there weren’t enough audit options for what my team needed. It wasn’t terrible, just frustrating because it felt close to being helpful but not quite there.

"Pretty smooth overall!!"
I used AppSheet to roll out a small internal app, and honestly... it went well!! The steps were clear enough, and it even caught a few issues before we went live, which was super helpful. Some of the settings took me a minute to figure out, and I definitely had to search around a bit, but overall??? The deployment process wasn’t too painful at all. Good experience... just not totally perfect!!

"Workflows are worth the setup time"
Once I got the workflows set up, they really started saving me time day to day. The setup took a little bit to figure out, but after using them for a while, the payoff made sense. It’s one of those things that feels a bit slow at first, then you realize how much repetitive work it’s cutting out

"Works fine, but the permissions are confusing"
It does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t really complain there. The weird part is the permissions, I’m not totally sure why it needs some of the access it asks for, and that made me pause a bit. Overall it works, but I’d feel better if the permissions were explained more clearly.

"Good tool, but support can be frustrating"
I do like using the tool overall, it’s been solid for what I need, but the community support has been a bit of a headache because sometimes someone gives a genuinely helpful answer and other times people just drop a link to the docs like that magically solves everything, so I ended up spending days trying to fix what felt like a really basic issue and it was way more confusing than it needed to be.

This has been really frustrating. I’ll be in the middle of doing something, and then it just freezes. No warning. Sometimes I lose what I was working on too, which is just... annoying. Feels like I’m constantly having to start over

"To be fair, it works fine at…"
To be fair, it works fine at first and is easy to get going. But once things start growing, it gets messy faster than I expected. Managing everything at scale takes more effort than I’d like, and it can feel a bit overwhelming if you’re not prepared for it.
